I returned last night from our annual week-long trip to my in-laws cabin on the Gunflint Trail. I’ll be posting the events of the trip this week.

Unfortunately, fishing wasn’t as good as it was last year, but I was also up there a month later. We only had one day where the fishing was better than marginal. All this summer I’ve been reading fishing reports from Sue Kerfoot, one of the lodge owners up there, and it’s been killing me not to be able to be there. And it appears I missed (most of) the boat.
But the family still had a great time and I still loved getting out of the water. I think my father-in-law was fished out by the end of the week and he was probably glad to see me leave. Due to the frustration of not catching as much, or as big of fish, as I would like, I was almost fished out. Almost.
Stay tuned for the journal entries about the week.

Bummer that the fishing wasn’t as good as last year. At least you were out and wetting a line. I didn’t get any fishing in this last week. And the fishing here has been hot. Oh well, back to the grind. Was a very buggy week while you were gone.
