This is my fishing Hall of Fame. A list of the biggest fish I’ve caught (so far):
MuskieMy biggest fish yet. A 40.5″ pulled out of Lost Land Lake near Hayward, WI. It was caught in October, 2008 using a large sucker and quick strike rig. Read the story…
I landed this 11 lb-4 oz Northern Pike out of a small lake in 2002 using a Coca-cola colored rattlin’ Rapala. The lake is off the Gunflint Trail in Northern Minnesota and known for its Northerns. Just the day before, someone caught a 23-lb Northern, which is why Ken and I decided to go to the lake. We’ve only been back once and Ken caught one we estimated at 9 lbs. We plan to go back in the future. Read the story…
WalleyeI caught my biggest walleye in Walleye Alley on Poplar Lake on the Gunflint Trail in July, 2008. The lure was a white pearl super fluke. It’s a funny story how I caught it. It was measured at 24″.
Ken and I pulled this pair out of Poplar Lake off the Gunflint Trail in June, 2007. Both were about 21″ and estimated around 5 lbs (we didn’t have a scale). I hate to admit it, but Ken’s (on the left) was actually a touch (about 1/4″) bigger. I caught mine using a 6″ purple plastic Zoom lizard. I think they stopped selling that color because I can’t find it anywhere anymore. I can’t remember for sure, but I think Ken caught his on a little Rapala. Read the story…
I caught this 18″ largemouth bass in Boulder, CO. My brother, Vince, took me to some small lakes (ponds, really) that he and his buddies float tube in. I landed this one the first night I was there. I was hoping to break my personal best record a few more times during the trip since Vince said 18″ was average in those lakes. But, alas, it wasn’t meant to be. It just means I’ll have to go back.
