Mark is a neighbor of mine that lives two houses down from me. We are the second house off the corner, so he’s actually across a street. That extra psychological barrier usually prevents either from us from seeing each other or talking much.
But his son plays with my next door neighbor’s son a lot and their family is always invited to our neighborhood gatherings that we have every few months. Usually only Marks’ wife and son show up because Mark is off fishing. My impression that he went up North to do his fishing.
Tonight, Mark showed up at our neighborhood End of the School Year celebration. Since I knew he was a big fisherman, I asked him about his recent outings. I don’t think he knew I was a fisherman and we got to exchange some great fish stories. During the conversation, I found out Mark doesn’t just fish up North, but he fishes a lot of the local lakes as well.
I got really interested in hearing about the local lakes and we decided we needed to get out together, especially since Mark ended up going it alone a lot of the time. My next door neighbor, Rob, also likes to fish (not as much as Mark and I) and the three of us decided to hit a lake later this weekend. Hopefully, I’ll be able to post a great fish story by Sunday night.
