The Outdoor Blogger Network had another great photo prompt that I had a good answer for: Show Us Some Action.
Last fall, my brother finally got me out on the float tube that he bought for me several Christmases ago. At the same time, he introduced me to jig and pigs (jigs with plastic trailers).
We were at my dad’s cabin in Northwestern Wisconsin and headed out about an hour before sunset. I bottom bounced my jig and trailer as we kicked our way toward a channel that leads to another lake. Just passed the entrance to the channel, I got my first bite on the jig. My brother said to play with it so he could get an action shot. This is what he snapped:
It was an awesome picture that captured the moment.
This was the first fish of 11 that I would catch that evening. My biggest was a 16″ fatty. I missed at least another 8 or so more. It was a great outing that hooked me on float-tubing and jig and pigs. I’ve been using both regularly ever since. I think it’s very cool that I have a pic that shows how it all started. And an awesome action shot to boot.
