I wanted to take a moment to say, “Thank you,” because today, WordPress stats reported that I hit a traffic milestone. Nine days ago, Google Analytics reported the same milestone.
When I started this blog a few years ago, a six figure pageview stat seemed an impossible achievement. Who would even care about my adventures? I’m grateful that a few of you do. I never imagined that I would hit this milestone before my 3rd anniversary. And for that, I would like to thank everyone who has stopped by, whether you returned or not.
It has surprised me which posts have been the most popular. When my neighbor gave me a recipe for pickled northern, I decided to blog the process of making it just for fun. But the recipe has been the most read post consistently since I published it. I knew it would be searched for around the holidays, but I get referrals from search engines to the article year-round.
The other surprise is my inquiry about left-handed vs. right-handed baitcaster reels. I posted the question about which to buy as a quest to pull from the experience of my fellow bloggers. Two years after I first posed the question, I’m still getting comments.
Life has been busy lately, but I’m starting to get more opportunities to wet a line again. I’ve been out once a week since my first outing and hopefully the trend will continue.
Thank you, everyone. Especially those returning readers. I wonder sometimes if my writing style is entertaining enough, but I must be doing something right. I welcome any and all comments. Please don’t hesitate to let me know you’ve visited. I appreciate all my readers and all the comments I’ve gotten.
On to the next 100,000!
