My name is MNAngler and I am an analytics-aholic. It all started in June of last year when I started this blog. I added a Google Analytics tracking code for visitor statistics. I was a little disappointed that the reports were a few hours behind. It was annoying, but bearable. Later I found out that WordPress had its own stats tracking plugin and I could have real time stats as soon as I logged in to my admin dashboard. Today is my brother’s birthday. He’s a better fisherman than I am (so far) because he has been able to get out a couple of times a week for the past few years. We haven’t been fishing together for a few years now because he lives in Boulder and when he comes back to visit we don’t have that much time to go fishing. Two months ago, a local news station ran a story about a YouTube video of a fish kill found in Pool 4 of the Mississippi River. According to the report, it “angered” anglers because “fishing blogs erupted with comments like ‘what a waste’ and ‘that’s a shame.’” The news story goes on to say that the commercial fishermen did nothing illegal when they harvested 150,000 pounds of buffalo fish and blamed a new Minnesota law for the fish kill.
