If you read one of my posts earlier this month, you know that I love getting things in the mail. My Lifetime Angling License was exciting, but I paid for it myself. Today I got a true present.
A few weeks ago, The Hunter’s Wife was holding a contest for a $50 Dick’s Sporting Goods gift card. I had no expectations that I would win, but I completed the contest steps anyway. After all, you can’t win if you don’t play, right? Well, I won! She had picked a winner on Friday, which was no surprise that it wasn’t me, but when I woke up Saturday morning, she informed me that I was a winner. Confused, I checked her blog and she picked a winner to early, so she picked a second winner. The card arrived today. Thank you so much, Jody!
I have some merchandise credit with Dick’s so I’m going to use the two cards and a $20 coupon to buy a Quantum Code baitcaster rod and reel that I’ve been lusting after for about a year. I’m a baitcaster virgin, but I’m told by more than one source that it’s really the way to go. It has a steep learning curve, though, because it’s prone to backlashes which can cause a mess of tangles anglers call, “birdnests” because they look like, well, birdnests.
So this March has been very good to me. I got my Lifetime Angling License, hit a traffic milestone for my blog, and won a contest put on by The Hunter’s Wife. Not a bad month. I wonder what I could do to have Christmas in April?
